<image:caption>Covington Henry Scott Littleton, 1860 - 1942. Image from his book “Money & Prosperity,” an economic treatise he wrote in favor of William Jennings Bryan’s plea for bi-metalism, (silver and gold as U. S. Currency,) written in between Bryan’s two failed attempts to beat William McKinley for U. S. President. McKinley favored the gold standard, absent of silver. Littleton owned interests in silver mines in Arizona, and sided with the working man over the East Coast Bankers, despite being a wealthy Philadelphia capitalist himself.
